It is with pleasure that I write to announce the results of the 2010 election to the Board of Directors of ASA. The following members will join the board as newly elected members.
1. Aili Mari Tripp, Vice President-elect
2. Imani Countess, Board Member-elect
3. Muadi Mukenge, Board Member-elect
4. Ato Quayson, Board Member-elect
On behalf of Charles Ambler, President; Judith Byfield, Vice President; members of the ASA Board of Directors and the Secretariat staff, I extend hearty congratulations! We are all looking forward to working with each new board member to ensure their success and the continued success of ASA.
This message would not be complete without expressing sincere appreciation to those ASA members who ran for office and lost. Their graciousness and high regard for ASA are evident and valued.
As you know, I have been serving as the Executive Director for a few weeks. In that short time I have learned that the historic and continued strength of ASA is due to the commitment, skills, and hard work of each and every member and the many friends and supporters. ASA faces many challenges and the knowledge and talent of everyone are needed more than ever.
Please do not wait until we meet at the 2010 Annual Meeting to share your ideas with me about the future of ASA. I am a phone call or an e-mail away.
Sincerely,
Karen Jenkins
