HOW TO READ THE PRELIMINARY PROGRAM

Each panel and roundtable is labeled by a combination of a Roman numeral followed by a letter and Arabic numeral.  The Roman numeral indicates the session: the date and time of the panel.  The letter corresponds to the list of sections above, indicating the section within which the panel or roundtable falls.  The Arabic numeral following the letter indicates the panel’s number within its section.  For instance, panel (I-A1) Romantic Love and Sex, Part I: Transnational Connections and New Technologies, takes place during Session I on Thursday, November 17, 2005, 12:45 P.M. - 2:45 P.M. and it is the first panel allocated in Section A.  An index of participants follows the schedule of sessions, panels and roundtables.  Individuals indicated by an asterisk (*) have been invited by the ASA Board of Directors, the Program Committee, or the Local Arrangements Committee to serve in multiple capacities. The code following each participant’s name corresponds with the session, section, and panel or roundtable number. The Young Scholar Panels are labeled YSP.
